Air Force Reserve
Why Join

COMMITMENT

commitmentThe Air Force Reserve offers much more than a part-time job. As a Reservist, you have a commitment to both your Reserve team and to the American people. All Reservists are subject to worldwide assignment upon recall or mobilization.

Because Reservists often have commitments to two jobs, civilian full-time and military part-time, as well as many family and other personal obligations, it is important that you fully understand both the benefits and the responsibilities involved.

If you have no prior military experience, your "Military Service Obligation" in the Air Force Reserve is eight years. In the first six years you will be in the Ready Reserve. In your next two years, if you elect them as such, you will be in the Inactive Ready Reserve.

If you would like to know more about any of these benefits or making a commitment to the Air Force Reserve, Contact a Recruiter.
