Airborne Mission Systems Specialist
Overview: The most essential element in any tactical mission is effective Command and Control (C2). Airborne Mission Systems personnel operate the radar, communications and electronic equipment on the E-3 and EC-130 aircraft that serve as airborne command and control centers during tactical and strategic missions.

AFSC: 1A3X1
Specific Tasks:
- Operate, maintain, test and repair airborne communications, sensor, computer and electronic systems
- Maintain communications with ground, air and sea units supporting the mission
Requirements:
- HS diploma or GED. Courses in physics, mathematics, computer principles, typing, speech and English are desirable
- Physical qualification for aircrew duty
- Normal depth perception
- ASVAB score of 70 on Electrical
- Must maintain eligibility to deploy and mobilize worldwide
- Height not less than 64 inches or more than 77 inches
- Physical qualification for voice communications operations is mandatory
- Eligibility for Top Secret security clearance
Training:
- Candidates without prior military experience are required to attend 7.5 weeks of Basic Military Training (BMT) at JB San Antonio-Lackland, TX; followed by Technical Training
