Aircraft Loadmaster
Overview: Unlike passenger airlines that have fixed seating arrangements, military cargo aircraft are essentially flying boxcars that start out as an empty shell and are custom loaded for each flight. Ensuring that cargo is loaded safely and securely, and passengers are safe and comfortable is the responsibility of the Aircraft Loadmaster. This is a flying specialty with extensive trips worldwide.

Specific Tasks:
- Supervise loading and unloading of cargo, vehicles and people on the aircraft
- Preplan correct load placement and distribution to ensure the aircraft can fly safely
- Ensure that adequate restraints are in place to prevent the load from moving during flight
- Provide for passenger comfort and safety
Requirements:
- HS diploma or GED. Courses in mathematics, computer principles, typing, speech and English are desirable
- Physical qualification for aircrew duty
- Qualification for aviation service
- Normal depth perception
- ASVAB score of 57 on General
- Must maintain eligibility to deploy and mobilize worldwide
- Height not less than 64 inches or more than 77 inches
- Eligibility for Secret security clearance
Training:
- Candidates without prior military experience are required to attend 7.5 weeks of Basic Military Training (BMT) at JB San Antonio-Lackland, TX; followed by Technical Training
