Generalist Combat Systems Officer

Overview: Generalist Combat Systems Officers monitor, evaluate and direct flying operations and training programs. These experienced officers have formerly qualified in individual combat systems specialties and now oversee budgets, requirements, planning and other management functions.

Position: Officer


Specific Tasks:

  • Develop requirements for equipment and training 
  • Prepare and coordinate budgets 
  • Analyze manpower requirements and formulate personnel policies 
  • Develop contingency plans


  • For award of AFSCs 12GX3/4, prior qualification in any Combat Systems AFSC (12X3)
  • For award of AFSCs 12G3W/4W, prior qualification in any electronic warfare officer (EWO) AFSC (12X3X)
  • Current aeronautical rating and no permanent disqualification for aviation service as CSO
  • Eligibility for Top Secret security clearance


  • Not Applicable due to prior experience/AFSC qualification requirements
