Intelligence Officer
Overview: Exploiting all possible information available about our nation's adversaries while carefully protecting any information that would display vulnerabilities regarding friendly forces is the role of Intelligence Officers. They manage the processes that transform raw data into useful intelligence information and then evaluate and produce assessments, options and risk evaluations.
Position: Officer
AFSC: 14NX
Specific Tasks:
- Oversee collection and exploitation of all intelligence sources including signals, imagery and human
- Analyze data to advise planners of options to accomplish objectives
- Assist in planning and execution of information warfare
- Perform and direct intelligence briefings and debriefings
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree; 75% of Intelligence Officers must have degrees in computer/information science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, physical sciences, cultural/ethnic/gender studies, foreign language, legal, liberal arts, humanities, social sciences or history
- Commission as an officer in the Air Force Reserve
- Eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance
Training:
- For those without a prior military service commission, successful completion of the eight-week Officer Training School at Maxwell AFB, AL is required
